Wits is making strides in research, innovation and social impact, from being ranked top in sub-Saharan Africa for innovation performance, advancing photonics research through a new Chair led by Dr Angela Dudley, and developing a nanoscale drug delivery system for drug-resistant TB pericarditis. The University is also addressing climate challenges through the renewed Climate Change and Plantation Sustainability Chair with Professor Mary Scholes, while engaging communities through initiatives such as the City Forum to examine spatial inequality and to shape urban development for a more inclusive future.
